Former senator Nimi Barigha-Amange says he is backing the second term bid of Bayelsa state Governor Seriake Dickson. Amange represented Bayelsa west senatorial district in the last senate. He denied quitting the Peoples Democratic Party and assured Dickson of support from Ogbia, Nembe and Brass, the areas he represented in the senate. "In fact, we are also praying that the governorship candidate of the main opposition party should come from this senatorial district so that everybody will now know who is in control of this place. So don't bother yourself," Amange told Dickson. Responding, Dickson thanked Amange for accepting to be vice chairman of his campaign advisory counci.
"The PDP is a big family. So once in a while, there could be one or two differences. But a genuine party leader will set aside personal differences for the overall good of the party and the state and of the Ijaw nation. Senator Amange as everybody knows, is one Ijaw patriot who has not failed in that regard," Dickson added.
