Governor of Bayelsa State, Henry Seriake Dickson on Tuesday formally declared his intention to seek re-election under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and vowed that his government will wind up the All Progressives Congress (APC) on December 5 when the election would take place.
In his declaration held in Yenagaoa, at the popular Samson Siasia Stadium, the governor said even though the opposition is relying on federal might, security agencies and and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to assist them to rig election, "Bayelsa has no room for APC."

The Leader of Niger Delta Peoples Volunteer Force, Alhaji Mujahideen Dokubo-Asari, also attended the declaration.
The stadium, despite  the rains, was filled with women groups, civil society groups, itelligentsia and leading bureaucrats.
Dickson said the love of his people and the need to consolidate on his achievements spurred him to seek re-election.
He also warned his supporters against the APC saying they were not present in the state and were busy working in Abuja.
Dickson also reminded the people of the achievement of the party in the region and gave reasons why PDP had been adopted as an 'Ijaw party'.
Speaking at the event was former president, Goodluck Jonathan. He addressed the crowd in pidgin english reminding them not to forget all the governor had done for them.
Jonathan accused the Ijaw people of always selling out their own. According to him, this attitude will only make the development of the ijaws slow.
A former governor of the state, said he believed God will hand Dickson victory in the polls. He also urged the people to play their part by giving Dickson their mandate.
Ondo State governor, Olusegun Mimiko also said the people should remember the APC had planned to disgrace Jonathan in the last presidential polls but God had been on his side. According to him, those bedevilling the PDP are people who have had one problem or another with the leadership of the party.
He urged the people of Bayelsa State to vote Dickson as their governor in the December 5th poll.
Asari-Dokubo reiterated the strong will of the ijaw people to re-elect  Dickson as governor promising that the governor will not be put to shame at the polls.
A women's leader also urged the people not to allow APC succeed in taking over their state as they have the country.
