The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ekiti State has urged Governor Ayodele Fayose to declare his assets. They have called on the governor to follow his predecessor, Kayode Fayemi, who publicly declared his assets to the admiration of the people.
APC publicity secretary of the state, Taiwo Olatunbosun, said that Ayo Fayose is believed to be corrupt and should clear his name by declaring his assets.
Olatunbosun also noted that Fayose has not made any derogatory comment about President Muhammadu Buhari's asset declaration. This he said is very much unlike the Ekiti State governor. He attributed this unusual silence to the speculations that Fayose was building a five star hotel in Dubai amongst other businesses in South Africa,Ghana, Ibadan, Lagos and Abuja using the state's allocated funds.
Urging the governor to follow Buhari's footstep, Olatunbosun said APC might have no option than taking legal action to force the governor to declare his assets to dispel rumours and allegations of properties acquisitions with state funds across the globe.
