Femi Falana, Professor Pat Utomi, former Osun governor, Olagunsoye Oyinlola, and Wale Edun, a former Lagos state commissioner, are purported to include President Muhammadu Buhari’s ministerial list, the PUNCH reported. Others named are a former managing director, Nigerian Breweries Limited, Festus Odimegwu, a former chief of army, Lt.-Gen. Abdulrahman Dambazu (retd.); an ex-chief executive of the Federal Inland Revenue, Ifueko Omoigui-Okaru; a former National Legal Adviser to the defunct Congress for Progressive Change, Abubakar Malami (SAN). The report also said the nominees have been screened by the Department of State Security. Edun was purportedly nominated by former Lagos Governor, Bola Tinubu, in whose cabinet he served as commissioner for finance. Nigeria Newsbreak can also authoritatively report that Edun is a close friend of Emir of Kano, Sanusi Mohammed Sanusi. Sanusi briefly occupied Edun’s office after he was booted as Central Bank governor by former President Goodluck Jonathan. While other feigned ignorance of their nomination and purported screening, Oyinlola reportedly confirmed his name was one of nine sent to Governor Rauf Aregbesola to pick from for ministerial nomination to the federal cabinet.
