Herb Seller Docked For N180m Deliverance Scam

A local herb seller, Adedoyin Oyenuga, has been arraigned at the Ikeja Magistrates’ Court for allegedly obtaining N180m under the guise of delivering his victim from evil spirits. The accused who resides in Ijebu-Ode, Ogun State, allegedly committed the offense between March and September 2014. He had met the complainant, Ken Onwuka, in Lekki, Lagos, claiming to possess supernatural powers. Unknown to Onwuka, the accused, Oyenuga, had sourced for information from some people who are now at large. Oyenuga had collected the money claiming he needed to consult the oracle and buy materials for the deliverance session. The Magistrate, Bola Osunsanmi, admitted the accused to bail in the sum of N200,000 with two sureties in like sum. Osunsanmi added that they must be employees of reputable companies or property owners in Lagos State. The case was adjourned till Nov. 16 for mention.
