Babatunde Fashola, former Lagos state governor, and few other former governors, are to be investigated by the Independent Corrupt Practices And Other Related Offences, ICPC, due to allegations of corruption against them, THE PUNCH reported. The newspaper said its source named the other ex-governors as Rotimi Amaechi, Godswill Akpabio and Rabiu Kwankwaso, who are of Rivers, Akwa Ibom, and Kano states. Others are former Katsina state governor, Ibrahim Shema; Sullivan Chime, Enugu state, and the former governors of Ebonyi and Jigawa states, Martin Elechi and Sule Lamido of Ebonyi and Jigawa state. The report said about "47 crack detectives" have been deployed for the "special task". But the story could not be verified, as ICPC Resident Consultant, Media and Events, Folu Olamiti, was said to have declined any comment on it.
