The Kano State Government has charged healthcare personnel to strive to sustain a polio-free state.
The State Commissioner for Health, Dr Kabiru Getso, gave the task while monitoring the polio immunisation in Kabo and Tofa local government areas.
Getso said that the state government had provided all the necessary logistics for the conduct of the exercise, urging the healthcare personnel to complement the effort.
Getso also stressed the need for quality record keeping of all routine immunisation, which he said could be extremely useful in the future.
He commended parents for their support in achieving 11 months without the wild polio virus in the state.
The Team Leader of the World Health Organisation in charge of Kano, Dr Bashir Abba, advised local government primary healthcare centres in the state to be up to date with their records.
