Rivers Election: Nigeria Army Confirms Election Didn’t Hold In LG

Garba Sani, a captain, has testified election did not hold in Tai Local Government Area of Rivers state in the ongoing hearing of the All progressives Congress, APC, petition against the return of Governor Nyesome Wike. Sani, who claimed to have led 36 other soldiers on peace-keeping during the poll was subpoenaed as a witness by the APC governorship candidate, Dakuku Peterside. He was allowed to testify after the tribunal overruled the objection of Wike’s counsel to his appearance. Sani, who is of the Bori Camp, Army Barracks in Port Harcourt, Rivers State capital, said he received the directive to appear from the army authorities, to which the summon of the Chief of Army Staff, Maj.-Gen. Tukur Buratai, was routed.
