Suspected cultists were reported to have killed a commercial bus driver, whose identity is yet to be known, and dumped his body into a canal in the Mushin area of Lagos state. There are insinuations the deceased driver was a member of a rival gang based in Oyingbo area in Lagos Mainland. The assailants purportedly dragged the driver out from his bus at Total Bus Stop in Mushin and took him away to Adewusi Street, also in the neighbourhood. The police were contacted, but a search by them for the captured man yielded no result. An eyewitness, Jacob Amos, claimed to be the one who alerted the police when the incident happened at about 8 p.m on Wednesday.
Amos said the assailants resurfaced with the deceased at about 10 p.m and took him to Railway Line, at which time he alleged the captured man was alive. Amos said the man would later be plunged into a filthy canal headward. The report said residents identified the leaders of the neighbourhood cult as one Rilwan, a.k.a Itakun, White, Ese Chicago, Ina, Anarchy and Riliwanu.
