Troops Intercept Diesel Thieves In Rivers, Seize 3 Boats

Troops of Operation Pulo Shield (OPS) of the Nigerian Army have intercepted the theft of 2.3 million litres of diesel worth N3.4 million in Tamunotonye Ama in Ogu-Bolo local government area of Rivers. Commander of the operation, Major General Alani Okinlola said the thieves were arrested at the bunker site while several equipment were seized. According to him, the thieves had stolen the product from a vandalised pipeline belonging to Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC). The OPS commander told newsmen that  items found at the site were 44 large plastic tanks, 22 illegal pumping dumps, 18 pumping machines, three speedboats, two outboard engines and a lengthy hose.
