A university teacher, Professor Cyril Ndifon, has been suspended for sexually harassing a 20-year-old Law undergraduate of the University of Calabar. The victim, a 400 level Law student, claimed Ndifon forcefully had sex with her in his office. The victim’s mother later contacted the university authorities to formally report the matter. The mother said her daughter told her Ndifon offered to have her re-write a test he had set for her class, having earlier tore his scripts 20 minutes to the end of the one-hour stoppage time. While in his office, Ndifon, who is also the dean of the Law faculty, pinned her down sex despite her resistance. The incident was said to have occurred on August 29, 2015, while Ndifon was detained briefly by the police. His suspension was recommended by a special panel set up by the university management to investigate the allegation.
