Barely 24 hours to the date given by the Federal High Court, Lagos for security agencies to produce Government Ekpemupolo, also known as Tompolo, he is yet to be found. A royal father in the Gbaramatu-Ijaw in Warri South-West Local Government Area, Delta State has said that nobody in the community is ready to disclose his hideout to the security operatives. He said the ex-militant leader had touched many lives and was highly regarded by the people.
“No Gbaramatu man will reveal the hideout of Tompolo to any security man even if he knows, unless that person does not have true Ijaw blood flowing in him.
“Tompolo is an institution, not only in Ijawland, but in the whole of Niger Delta. He has touched many lives and is the current symbol of the struggle.
“Therefore, it is not easy for any full-blooded Ijaw man to betray him. From what I can see, the whole thing is about business transaction, the Federal Government should settle the matter and let peace reign,” he said.
Meanwhile, the Inspector General of Police, Solomon Arase,, has said that warrants for his arrest has been circulated to other commands in Delta, Rivers and surrounding states to effect his arrest if found.
