The Nigerian Army says 16 Boko haram members have been killed on Saturday while the insurgent invaded a town in in Borno State.
According to report the insurgent were killed during an attack, while the army was on clearance in the area. Seven people and two soldiers were also killed by the insurgent.
A resident Abba Abiso said, the insurgents opened fire on them and carted away with their food and drugs from the only clinic in the town.
The Nigerian army also said it recovered a machine gun, a rocket propelled grenade and ammunition's from the insurgents, two of whom were captured alive.
