Musa Azare, a blogger, has been released from police detention, after his arrest for insulting Bauchi Govenor Mohammed Abubakar. Azare's release was purportedly directed by the governor, who had just returned into the country from a business trip, a government statement said. Azare was arrested for 'Cyber Stalking'. "Good news is that the Governor of Bauchi State who just returned from a business trip to China has ordered his immediate release", the statement said.
"This is because as a lawyer, he believes in freedom of speech".
'The Nigerian chairman of the Human Rights committee has confirmed that Musa Azare', the statement also said.
