Rotimi Akeredolu, winner of the disputed governorship aspirants of the All Progressives Congress, APC, for Ondo, Southwest Nigeria, has appealed to those aggrieved by his emergence. Akeredolu was reported to have told a gathering of APC supporters Monday that the party would overcome its crisis following the primaries result “Whatever the challenges, we shall overcome without any fear because of our belief and trust in God, we have character and integrity to bring good governance to Ondo State. Ondo State APC delegates in their wisdom voted for me to become the candidate of our great party and by the grace of God APC will win Ondo State,” Akeredolu said.
But, Akeredolu’s plea sharp contrast the position of majority of the party’s youth leaders in the state. About 13 of the 18 of the leaders across the state’s senatorial districts called for fresh primaries. The aggrieved leaders representing each of the three districts are Deji Oluwashina, Soji Ogungbemi and Bobade Omolade.
