Why Allardyce Is ‘Pissing His Pants’ At England FA

England’s manager Sam Allardyce is in trouble again. The former Bolton Wanderers boss was caught on camera discussing a shady deal to use his position to make £400,000. He gave the reporters, disguised as middle-east businessmen, tips on how to bypass the Football Association’s transfer rules. Allardyce was also seen taking a dig at his predecessor, Roy Hodgson. In the video, he kept referring to him as ‘Woy’. He also said the manager had been pushed around by his assistant, Gary Neville. He had joked about how the boss should have told Neville to ‘Shut up and sit down’. He blamed Hodgson for England’s ouster to Iceland at the 2016 European Championships in France.

The 61-year-old also said the FA had been ‘stupid’ and wasted the over £800 million it spent in renovating Wembley Stadium. The former West Ham manager was in the meeting with his agent, Mark Curtis and financial adviser, Shane Moloney.

FA chief executive Martin Glenn is said to have spoken to Allardyce on Monday night and will do so again on Tuesday morning when all the facts of this affair will be ascertained.

“I want all the facts, to hear everything from everyone and make a judgment about what to do. Natural justice requires us to get to the bottom of the issues before we make any decision. It is not appropriate to pre-judge the issue. With things like this you have to take a deep breath,” Dailymail quoted Glenn as saying.

Allardyce had negotiated a two-year contract with the FA worth around £3m a year but now faces an early axe after the video was circulated. His team will play Malta at the same Wembley Stadium he labelled a waste of money on Saturday.
