Appeal Court Okays Keystone Ex-MD Atuche For Trial

The Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, has ruled Francis Atuche, former managing director defunct Bank PHB (now Keystone Bank) should face trial for alleged N25.7b theft.

The court backed appeal by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) against the ruling of a Lagos High Court which dismissed the charge.

Justice Gana Mshelia, leading the appeal panel, said the lower court erred and ordered the Chief Judge of Lagos State to reassign the case to another judge or retrial.

Atuche is standing trial, along w ith his wife, Elizabeth, and a former Chief Financial Officer of the bank, Ugo Anyanwu.
