Jeremy Cobryn has been re-elected as UK’s Labour Party leader . He defeated his rival Owen Smith, who conceded minutes before the results were announced, according to TheTimes.
Cobryn in his victory speech said he was honoured to win the election and thanked Smith “for the good discussions and the good-humoured debates we have had and that we will continue to have because we are all part of the same Labour family”.
“We have much more in common than that which divides us; let’s wipe that slate clean from today and get on with the work we’ve got to do as a party together,” he said.
Corbyn secured 61.8% of the vote while Smith got 38.2%.
“I will do everything I can to repay the trust..”, Cobryn said.
