Chelsea’s Thibaut Courtois has said that he might switch to the Spanish La Liga after his contract with the Blues expires in 2018. Speaking to sports newspaper, Marca, the 24-year-old said he knew from the day he left for England that he would return to Spain if the opportunity arises.
“I have a contract with Chelsea for three more seasons. In 2018 when I am in the last year of my contract we will have to evaluate if it is best for me to renew or leave.
“When I left Spain I already knew that one day I was going to go back,” he said.
Courtois said he misses the team and still keeps contact with former teammates Koke, Juanfran, Gabi and Felipe Luis.
The Belgian keeper also spoke about the breakdown of relations between the Chelsea players and Jose Mourinho last season. He said the crack in relationship had led to the poor performance of the team.
