The indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, has shunned threat of arrest by the police, following its declaration of its sit-at-home protest.
However, the police in Abia said IPOB’s order is tantamount to declaring a public holiday, which they lacked the power to do.
But, IPOB has rather urged their members to resist the police. Emma Powerful, media and publicity secretary, explained the protest was to express how the group’s members “feel in this false union and false marriage of incompatible bed fellows”.
“It becomes necessary to remind ourselves why it is important to save and protect the future of our unborn progeny,” Powerful stated.
The sit-at-home order is between 7am and 4pm, by sitting at home, according to IPOB.
