Ogundare Opeyemi, a member of the National Youth Service Corps, NYSC, is reported to have slumped and died in Nembe area of Bayelsa.
He was said to have died a day after he attended a party with his friends.
According to a source, he made complaints about his health after which he slumped and died.
Opeyemi’s death was said to have raised serious questions among other NYSC members, who decried the rampant deaths of their colleagues.
The deceased’s corpse was deposited at the mortuary of the Federal Medical Centre, Yenagoa following which his family came for Opeyemi’s remains for burial.
Meanwhile, Anthony Ekeocha, the NYSC State Coordinator lamented over the painful deaths of corp members in Bayelsa State. “We are here to carry out an assignment and it is a painful assignment. We all pray that we should not die prematurely but at an old age. I put myself in the shoes of the parents after much investment but at the end this is what they got”. He said.
