Nigeria Football Federation president Amaju Pinnick has said that he has never been in doubt of the country’s chances of making it to the 2018 World Cup in Russia. Pinnick told Goal that he also dreams of the country making it to the semifinal stage of the tournament.
“We have a good coach and the best set of players in Africa, and I believe these two factors will help us qualify for Russia 2018.
“My dream is not just to qualify for the World Cup but to reach the last four of the tournament,” he said.
He lamented the federation’s lack of funds but remained optimistic that the goal of taking Nigerian football to the highest possible level is achievable. He praised the Super Eagles’ coach Gernor Rohr saying he is assured the team is in good hands and there is no need to be worried.
