The Minister of Women Affairs and Social Development, Aisha Jumai Alhassan, slumped at the Internally Displaced Persons’ camp in Fufore Local Government Area of Adamawa State on Tuesday. She had been on a two-day official visit to the state before slumping shortly after presenting some relief materials to the IDPs.
Alhassan, who walked into the hall with the aid of crutches, was immediately assisted by some of her aides who got a chair for her to sit on. She fanned and given bottles of Coca Cola to help raise the level of her blood sugar. She was then driven back to the lodge for her to rest.
Punch reports that she returned to the hall to deliver President Muhammadu Buhari’s message to the IDPs.
Alhassan was said to have recently undergone surgery for an undisclosed ailment.
