Zambia Sack Coach Two Weeks To W/Cup Qualifier

Barely two weeks to the match against Nigeria, Zambia has sacked its national team coach, Elijah Chikwanda.  The tactician was fired over a row in the team over the appointment of the next captain of the team. Wenda Nyirenda has been named the replacement and he will be assisted by George Lwandanina. They have maintained Aggrey Chiyangi and Chintu Kampamba as Chipolopolo assistant coaches.

The Football Association of Zambia’s General Secretary, Ponga Liwewe however explained that the move was just keep the coaching staff more focused ahead of the game against Nigeria while confirming that acting coach, Nyirenda would be in charge when they host Nigeria in Nola.
