Akinwunmi Ambode, governor of Lagos, has assured Badagry Deep Sea Port project will be completed.
A government statement says Ambode made the pledge in London on Thursday during a meeting with representatives of APM Terminals. He reportedly emphasised the project’s importance to the state economy. He also said the over $2.3billion project would enhance social infrastructure, the state’s urban renewal ambition and job creation.
Responding, APM Terminals, Head of Africa, Peter Volkjaer Jorgensen, was said to have similarly committed to the project.
The statement said Country Manager, APM Terminal, David Skov; Chairman APM Terminal Apapa, Ernest Shonekan; Lagos State Governor, Akinwunmi Ambode; Head of Africa, APM Terminal, Peter Volkjaer Jorgensen; Chairman, Supreme Offshore Limited, Mr. Chidi Ofong; Koye Edu; Lagos State Commissioner for Commerce, and Rotimi Ogunleye; Permanent Secretary, Lagos Global, attended the meeting.
