The Nigerian military have said that insurgents, Boko Haram, have been restricted to Sambisa Forest. Head of the counter-insurgency operation in the North East, Maj. Gen. Lucky Irabor, said troops had recaptured all known Boko Haram bases with the latest being Abadam and Mallam Fatori on 27 September. He said this at a press conference in Maiduguri, Borno State. He stated that the operations had cost the military human and material losses. While saying they were not jubilating yet as the insurgents could attempt reclaiming the areas, he said the troops were ready to ward off any attack.
Irabor promised that the insurgents hiding in the Sambisa Forest will be expelled soon.
