Residents of informal settlements and slums in Lagos have stormed Lagos Governor Akinwunmi Ambode’s office, on Tuesday, in continued protests against a planned eviction from the areas. Last week, the protesters demonstrated and submitted a protest letter at the Governor’s Office, where they were received by the Special Adviser on Civic Engagement. The protest letter gives the Lagos State Government seven days to rescind its decision. The aggrieved residents said they would march on the government secretariat, with mattresses, stoves and foodstuff until they were addressed by Governor Ambode.
