Harare To Hold 2-Day Sex Expo

Harare, the Zimbabwean capital, will next month hold a two -day sex expo. The event is being organised by a team of Zimbabwean doctors specialising in supporting vulnerable groups in impoverished communities. The objective of the fair is to raise awareness around sexual reproductive health and HIV/Aids.
The organisers of the event, Community Health Initiative, said yesterday that the expo would comply with the country’s laws and would have age restrictions.
“We need to change the way we talk about sex to the youth and this platform is meant to do that. Times are changing and we need to approach sex education in a different way, especially for the youth,” Community Health Initiative executive director Ntokozo Msipha told the country’s Daily News On Sunday.
“There will be talk of HIV/ Aids awareness, protection and satisfying sex education. We want people to come and learn about sex and to discover sex in an entertaining way. We know there are regulated products and we are going to do everything as allowed by law,” Msipha added.
The expo comes as Zimbabwe is grappling with the resurgence of sexually transmitted diseases, as well as rising HIV infections among the 15-35 age groups.
