Juventus Offer Bonucci Bumper Pay Rise To Ward Off Chelsea

By Adebayo Williams

Juventus have offered defender Leonardo Bonucci a pay rise in an attempt to ward off interest from Chelsea. The Italian international has been a target for Chelsea in the last few seasons as Antonio Conte looks to solve his team’s defensive problems. Bonucci had said he was only interested in staying in Italy after his two-year-old son fell seriously ill and had to undergo surgery in July.

The 29-year-old defender was a regular for Conte at Juventus and in the Italian national team. The Old Lady have offered him a new contract worth £100,000-a-week to keep him in Turin. Bonucci is under contract with Juventus until 2020.
