Almost two dozens of people were reportedly killed in an attack on Godogodo town, in Jema’a Local Government Area of Kaduna State on Saturday and Sunday. Policemen were said to be among those who fled the indiscriminate killing and arson by people suspected to Fulani herdsmen.
Multiple sources said women and children were among the slain indigenes, with many homes razed. The attack was also said to have inspired ethnic tension between the predominantly Christian community and their muslim minority settlers.
Meanwhile, the Chairman of Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders’ Association, Kaduna State chapter, Dr. Haruna Usman, allegedly told Vanguard he was unaware of the attack.
“I don’t know anything about that yet,” Usman was quoted to have said.
