Argentine legend Diego Maradona was in the news, again for the wrong reason, after he charged at compatriot, Juan Sebastian Veron at the ‘United for Peace’ game organised by Pope Francis on Wednesday evening. The former Argentina coach had been in a bright mood at the Stadio Olimpico playing for a group of world stars before he had an altercation with Veron on the pitch. All present thought it was done until Maradona charged at Veron again after the match. Security personnels and players had to intervene to stop the World Cup winner from causing trouble.
Ronaldinho and Francesco Totti also played the match. A La Liga XI emerged 4-3 victors over a Rest of the World XI.
