Edo State Government has declared Thursday a public holiday because of the coronation of Benin Crown Prince Eheneden Erediauwa on Thursdsay.
Prof Julius Ihonvbere, secretary to the state government, made the announcement.
Prof. Ihonvbere said the public holiday is to allow residents of the state witness the coronation ceremony. Measures have been put in place to ensure a free flow of traffic.
The ceremony will take place at Urho-Okpota in Benin City. The government assured of effective traffic control and that vehicles plying the coronation areas will be diversion. About 5,000 policemen are said to have been drafted for the ceremony.
