US President Barack Obama and his wife Michelle Tuesday celebrated their 24th wedding anniversary. Obama, first African American to be US president, announced it on his Twitter. The president shared a photograph of him and his wife holding hands, captioning it "side-by-side for 24 years. Here's to many more.
The first couple met in 1989 as employees of Chicago-based law firm, Sidley & Austin. Barack was working as a summer associate and Michelle, his adviser.
After their first date, “We clicked right away...by the end of the date it was over...I was sold,” Michelle said in a magazine interview. They courted for three years and wedded in 1992.
They have two daughters together, Malia, 18 and Sasha, 15
