Sola Ajayi, a prophetess with the Cherubim and Seraphim Church, is said to have robbed a woman, Kudirat Lamidi, of a Canadian-breed life turkey valued at N30, 000.
The details of Ajayi’s deed has not been known though, she reportedly committed the offence on Oct. 16 at about 4.00 p.m. at Iloromu Quarters, Mokuro, Ile Ife, Osun State.
Ajayi was subsequently arrested and docked at Ile Ife Magistrates’ Court.
The Prosecutor, Sgt. Sunday Osanyintuyi, told the court that Ajayi’s alleged offence contravened Section 390 of the Criminal Code, Laws of Osun, 2002.
After listening to the parties and Ajayi’s no guilty plea taken, Chief Magistrate Olalekan Ijiyode granted her bail in the sum of N30, 000 with one surety, who must be a civil servant and resident within the jurisdiction of the court.
This, however, was not to be, as Ajayi was unable to find a surety.
The Magistrate, therefore, ordered her remand in prison, while adjoining the case to Nov. 26 for hearing.
