A suspected cultist, Ibrahim Oriyomi Balogun, alongside other members of the gang, was Tuesday docked at the Ebutte Meta Chief Magistrate’s Court for allegedly terrorizing residents of Shomolu- Bariga and Abule Ijesha areas of Lagos. The prosecution alleges that 35-year-old Balogun, otherwise known as “Small Japron”, is a member of the Eiye Confraternity. Police Prosecutor John Ikeh, a sergeant, said Balogun’s alleged offence is punishable under sections 409, 42(a), of the criminal law of Lagos of Nigeria 2011. The suspect pleaded not guilty to the two-count charge preferred against him.
Presiding Magistrate Okubule A.S. granted Balogun a bail of N200,000 before adjourning the case till October 19, 2016.
