Abdulmumin Jibrin presented himself for testing for substance abuse at the National Hospital Abuja on Tuesday. The suspended House of Representatives member was spotted at the hospital around 12 noon waiting to be tested. He said the reason for the test is to prove to Nigerians that he was normal and had not made corruption allegations on Speaker Yakubu Dogara and some principal officers of the house due to drugs use.
Premium Times reports that the deputy Director, Clinical Services, identified as Jawa, said the results would be available in about three to four days. He, however, said the result will only be made public on request of the patient, Jibrin.
After the test, Jibrin said he had found the accusations of drugs use rather embarrassing. He denied ever taking alcohol or smoking a cigarette let alone drugs. He promised to release more secrets in the coming days saying he needed the test result to show that he was normal.
Jibrin told Premium Times that he had done a test previously which came out negative but he needed the a result from a more credible facility hence his decision to use the National Hospital. He promised to make the results public.
