The Peoples Democratic Party Abia State were plunged into mourning on Wednesday after their treasurer, Steve Umeoga, died after playing lawn tennis match. The state Publicity Secretary, Don Ubani, confirmed the incident to Punch. He said Umeoga had been hale and hearty but slumped after the match. He was said to have sat on the court after the match leading club members to think he was resting. He was rushed to the Federal Medical Centre after club members had tried to resuscitate him. He died at the hospital.
Before his death, Umeoga was said to have ordered two cartons of beer for club members.
