AGF To Appear Before ICC Over Zaria Massacre

By Tony Nwanne

The Attorney General of the Federation (AGF) and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, is expected to jet out of the country on invitation from the international Criminal Court of Justice (ICC) to explain last year’s clash between the military and Shi’ites members in Zaria.
Based on the invitation, the AGF is expected to embark on an official visit to ICC today Wednesday 16, 2016.

Meanwhile, members of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria (IMN) otherwise known as the Shi’ites yesterday took their protest to the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) in Abuja saying no fewer than one hundred innocent citizens were killed in Kano on Monday.
The protesting Shi’ites members alleged that armed police men attacked a peaceful Shi’ites procession while discharging their religious duty- the annual Arbaeen symbolic trek.
They called on the NHRC to inform President Muhammadu Buhari that members of the group are citizens of Nigeria that deserve to be protected from all kind of harm from enemies of peace and humanity.
