Ondo State governor Olusegun Mimiko has lost two of his aides to the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state. The aides, Aderonke Morolayo, Special Assistant on Political Matters and Victor Ojo, Special Assistant on Mobilisation announced their decision to leave their positions and join the opposition in a letter addressed to Mimiko.
Morolayo told Mimiko that his decision to have his successor from the Central Senatorial District had spoilt the party’s chances of winning the 26 November poll.
Meanwhile, the APC has welcomed the fleeing opposition members into its fold. A statement by the party’s Publicity Secretary in the state, Abayomi Adesanya, said the two politicians were received into the party by the deputy governorship candidate in the forthcoming election, Agboola Ajayi. It urged them to work tirelessly to ensure the party emerges victorious in the forthcoming elections.
