Algeria’s national team coach, Georges Leekens, has said that his team will be out to exploit the Super Eagles’ defensive weakness. Leekens said his attackers will be ready and must score goals if they are to keep their World Cup qualification bid on course.
“The defence of Nigeria has some weaknesses that needs to be taken into account,” Leekens told media.
“To achieve a good result (in Uyo), we have to score one or more goals.
“(When that happens), they will (try) to the attack (us ceaselessly).
“We have to start the game well and also try to stop the Nigeria attacks,” he concluded.
The Eagles will square up to the Algerians at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, Uyo, Akwa Ibom State on Saturday at 5pm. Gernot Rohr’s men lead the table with three points from their 2-1 victory over Zambia in Ndola in their first group game of the 2018 World Cup qualifying series.
