President Muhammadu Buhari has expressed an admiration for former Vice President Atiku Abubakar.
“Over the years, I have admired your courage and doggedness in defending your interests and your generosity in promoting education,” said Buhari, in a birthday message to Atiku.
The president says “he is happy to welcome Atiku Abubakar ” to the 70s club”, as the latter turns 70 on the 25th of November 2016.
In a letter released by his Special Adviser, Femi Adeshina, the president prayed that Allah would grant the former vice president “many more years of good health and service to Nigeria.”
“The American University in Yola is one of your noble legacies, and my hope and wish is that it will endure.”
President Buhari added that himself and the former vice president should be grateful to Allah, who granted them grace to be in the 70s club, and sends “kind personal regards.”
