The Nigerian Army’s Guards Brigade has reportedly arrested a woman, Juliana Gumel, Friday, at Abuja, who operated an unregistered clinic in Dutse area of the state.
Abdullahi Abba, the brigade major, said in a statement that the 42-year-old suspect had been operating the illegal facility identified as El-Sone Clinic and Maternity located at Buki Village, Dutse, off the Bwari Expressway, Abuja, since 2014.
Abba, who stated that the fake major lived in a makeshift apartment as a doctor in the area, said the troops recovered a pair of Nigerian Army Woodland Camouflage with a Nigerian Army rank of major, a pair of combat boots, a jungle hat, a fake outdated Nigerian Army identity card and a fake current Nigerian Army identity card.
It was reported that other items recovered from the woman included a camouflage T-Shirt, a pair or camouflage trousers, a pair of handcuffs, a pepper spray and passport photographs and pictures of her in military uniform.
The major said that the mother of one, who hailed from Kaduna State, produced the Nigerian Army identity card at a business centre where she claimed to be a major.
He added that the house and the clinic of the impostor had been sealed off by the military as a crime scene before the case would be handed over to the police at the end of the ongoing investigation.
