Arsenal’s Bellerin To Sign New Contract

By Adebayo Williams

Arsenal’s Hector Bellerin is set to sign a new contract with the Emirates Stadium outfit, his agent has revealed. The right back has aroused interest from former club Barcelona over the last transfer windows with Arsenal holding firmly to keep their priced asset.

“We are speaking and are now a lot closer than we were two weeks ago. In a normal situation he will sign,” Botines told the Guardian.

“Hector is very happy at Arsenal. This would be the fourth time he has signed a new contract at the club and it is clear he has made good progress at the club.”

Bellerin has made himself a very important part of the project at Arsenal since his arrival in 2011. He played all but two of the Gunners matches last season.

The Spain U-21 player wrestled the starting spot from French veteran Mathieu Debuchy. He has also been instrumental to the North London club’s third position this season.
