A British Airways flight gutted fire on Thursday after a forced landing due to a ‘technical fault’.
The BA752 flight returned to Heathrow, where it earlier took off. DailyMail reported passengers were evacuated from the plane into the airport buildings. The plane reportedly flew three hours after the incident was resolved.
The mail said unconfirmed reports put down the cause of the fire to smoke from the aircraft.
A BA spokesman said: ‘The safety of our customers and crew is always our top priority, and our flight returned to the airport due to a suspected technical fault with the aircraft.
“Our customers are already on their way to Basel on an alternative aircraft”.
