Senate President Bukola Saraki Friday said his meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari was merely “a general felicitation”
“It did not go beyond that”, Saraki told probing journalists.
There was a perception the visit by the senate president was like warming to President Buhari, after the shooting down by the senate of the latter’s $30 million external borrowing request.
Speaking on the loan request, Saraki said: “We should not look at the loan request as a reflection of the relationship between the Executive and the Legislature. Don’t let us politicise very important issues. As we said, this is work in progress.”
