The Dangote Group, Monday, promised to support the Federal Government, Kano State out of the recession the country is currently facing by exploring key sectors of the economy.

The Group said this in Abuja highlighting its plans to explore the opportunities opening up agriculture, mining and infrastructure by partnering with the different levels of government.

Halima Dangote, an Executive Director representing Group’s President, Aliko Dangote made the pledge at the Kano International Trade Fair Ceremony.

Dangote said the recession rather presented opportunities to explore areas of development and reclaim Nigeria’s lost glory, adding that the decision informed the re-opening of Dangote Flour Mill and the Tomato processing project in Kadawa Area of the state.

He went further to say the group is making efforts to revive rice production through extensive out-grower programme in Jigawa.

“It is our intention to establish a large scale rice mill of 250,000 tonnes per annum capacity in Kano, to process production in three states,’’ Dangote said.

DAngote applauded the Kano Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture, KACCIMA, and the government for their involvement in the business community by organizing the fair which attracted a wide range of businesses.

President of KACCIMA, Umar Dansuleka, said Dangote’s presence at the fair was encouraging to other businesses aspiring to grow, adding the efforts of the group have enhanced the image of the country.
