David Oyedepo, bishop of the Living Faith Church, a.k.a Winners’ Chapel, has revealed why he stopped using his wired telephone line for a month some time ago. Oyedepo didn’t say when he actually took the decision, but claimed to shut down his telephone line due to high tariff from the defunct NITEL.
Oyedepo, a billionaire Pentecostal church leader and school proprietor, was speaking at the Excellence in Leadership Conference holding at Daystar Christian Centre, Lagos.
Oyedepo expressed surprise at the news that Nigerians spent roughly N440 billion naira per month on telephone calls, as at May 2014. The pastor adds that rather than budget for airtime, an average Nigerian consumes airtime per month in a “pay as they go” fashion. He admonished people to imbibe self-disciplined and make budget on income.
