The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has reportedly transferred former Aviation Minister, Femi Fani-Kayode to Kuje Prison in Abuja.
Fani-Kayode was absent as his trial for an alleged N4.9billion fraud resumed at a Federal High Court in Lagos on Monday.
Fani-Kayode’s defense counsel, Wale Balogun informed the court the transfer was responsible for the latter’s absence in court.
Moreso, Balogun informed the Muslim Hassan-led court that John Tsoho, justice of the Abuja division federal high court had given the order to remand Fani-Kayode in Prison.
The former aviation minister was arraigned on October 21, at the Federal High Court, Lagos, for charges bordering on money laundering. But he was arrested and transferred to Abuja by the EFCC shortly after court session.
