Minister of Education, Adamu Adamu, Thursday, assured the Senate that the Federal Government and the Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, will resolve all outstanding issues in three days.
Adamu stated the new development at the meeting held at the National Assembly Complex between the union and Federal government. He said all negotiations between the two parties will end in three days.
Bukola Saraki, the Senate president, who was mandated by the Senate to mediate between the two sides, was also present at the meeting. He was delegated to ensure a prolonged strike by the university lecturers was prevented.
The Senate had given the FG and ASUU a two-week period within which both parties must resolve the outstanding issues between them. The matter bothered on “earned allowances” for ASUU members.
