The federal government has reaffirmed commitment to rebuild the burnt library complex of the University of Jos (UNIJOS).
The pledge also covers the restoration of lost academic materials through the intervention of the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund).
This was confirmed by Abdullahi Baffa, executive secretary, TETFund.
According to a statement from TETFund, Adamu Adamu, minister of education, approved the rebuilding of the complex.
The library complex hosts two faculties and four departments including the information and communication technology facility.
Baffa told the university committee led by Sebastian Maimako, the vice chancellor, that the minister had directed TETFund to ensure that the least UniJos got was the restoration of the burnt library complex.
“The loss caused by the fire incident is something that cannot be quantified because of the loss of some academic materials that no amount of money can replace.
“The honorable minister of education commiserates with the management and students of the university, that is why he is interested in how and what we do to ensure that the library complex is quickly restored and becomes functional again,” he said.
